I originally painted this little gouache cat head in my sketchbook in the beginning of the year and decided to scan it. I kinda decided I liked it enough to create a desktop wallpaper out of it. I’m also in the process of figuring out how to get my stuff printed and available for purchase at some point.

Onward! - May 9, 2013 - Krista Perry
So it’s finally summer! I’m also finally tucked back into my home and far away from the city (thankfully). Here is my second final that I forgot to post when I completed it! Final reviews kept me away from the computer for a while. For this assignment, I had to choose an animal (chipmunk) and pair it with the animal that a chosen classmate had to pick for me (barn owl) and create a dynamic or comical scene with the two interacting in human like ways. I’m really proud of this piece! Materials used : Ink, Watercolor, and Gouache on 13.5” by 9” watercolor paper (please keep the bolded credit line up above)

I painted Father John Misty for one of my final assignments for this semester! I decided to try and tackle gouache only on this assignment. I knew it’d be difficult for the amount of lighting and layering that I’d have to include, but I’m very happy with the results! Check out process/progress shots here.

Geometric Work - Krista Perry - April 21, 2013
I totally forgot I had this piece of wood lying around! I’ve probably had it for 2 or 3 years and never ended up using it. I got a lot of my school work done early this weekend which means I can make stuff I wanna make! It’ll be nice to have a good mix of things for professors to look at at second semester reviews! I’m super excited about this piece, I might even start selling them. I had so much fun making this!

I made this the day they locked down Boston. As I kept my hopes up, I painted.

Hello! Just felt like posting a little something about semester progress. The year is quickly wrapping up and I’m super excited for summer. I have a long list of illustration projects I’d like to achieve this summer! I’m hoping that as soon as free time comes around I won’t be anywhere near as lazy as I was last year. Last summer was terrible. I thought “Wow I’m going to make something every day!” and I ended up barely making anything. I feel incredibly inspired by this year and the amount of information that I’ve taken in. Not only have I improved on skills, but I’ve also become very familiar with newer mediums which makes me super excited to explore more!

I’m currently in the process of working out what my finals will be, they seem to be pretty open ended which is the best. Shooting for something ghost themed with my friends which will be interesting because It’s something I’ve never really worked with before! More to come soon I’m sure!
